Interesting Morning, Learned some new tricks.

I got a call from a pretty good customer who's son had gotten jumped at a club in SLC. Someone drove the guy to the hospital and just left him and the car there. Needless to say he was in ICU for a week and is getting better now. But his car had to sit in impound for a week while the cops got all the pictures and evidence they needed. I'm not sure how much blood he lost, but it was everywhere. I have a lady who works with me and just for fun she started taking Phillipeno Knife fighting classes. I asked he what cool things she learned? Her exact quote was "If someone has a knife, jut run away!".

Passanger side seat just covered was all crusted up and in every crack you could think of.

I pulled everything that wasn't glued down. The seats had the perferated type of leather MAJOR PAIN!!!

Got them cleaned dried and put back.

Door panel had down in the pocket. Plus the speaker grill wasn't easy to clean.

I forgot to get a picture of the Driver seat and console but they where covered also. The arm rest was really bad blood had ran down the whole side. You can kind of see it in the first picture. The center console had it all over both side from top to bottom.

I should of taken a better before picture, There was blood that had ran through the seat and was all over the back floor.

All cleaned up and ready to go home. Not to bad for 5 hrs. of work.

Mindy got a new ride.

Trunk Lid couldn't get the scratches to show up in the picture.

Could not get the scratches to show up, because there GONE!

Hood has a few blemishes.

System one X polish removed everything, not easy work. Results well worth it.

This looked pretty nasty once I got the car washed and dried.

System one X suprised me again and removed everything.

Probably me favorite set of before and afters.

A little bit different from the first shot. Sorry about all the crap behind me in my garage.

Dirty trunk again.

System one X followed up by Pete's 53 lsp.

Fading was removed nicely.

Bumper and headlight needed some work.

I promise it is the same car in all the pictures. It's not perfect, but I got it shining pretty good. Just think what I could do on paint that not 10 years old?

Rain, Rain, go away come again some other day.

I had a busy weekend but made some Dough and was able to give some people some clean rides for the up coming week. I did a F150 first thing Friday and it was nice because the truck is well maintained. I really got the tire to shine on this one. Next I did my bro-in-laws motorcycle. Hunter and Peyton had fun because they got to ride with me to pick it up and drop it off. Man Bikes have a lot of metal to polish bu they look good when they are done. I then started on a Escalade, it has to be the nicest car I've done so far and don't forget I have done a Shelby GT500 KR. If I had the $$$ a Caddy would be nice in the driveway. Ben/Kari/Mindy and I went in on Saturday night and seen the Proposal after eating at Famous Dave's. It was a pretty funny movie. When we got home Mindy finished watching Australia(Stupidest Movie EVER!!!). Then I started the Ultimate Fighter Finally. I didn't get to bed until about 2:30 a.m.. We took back the Caddy just to have to run back and pick it up because it started to rain. Had a good time @ Mindy's parents during lunch, then headed over to my Dad's place. The boy's had fun on the swing. Then they colored them selves and Grandpa with sidewalk chalk.

Third Submission Tournament

I don't think they have posted the results yet. www.utahchampion.com

I entered two divisions this time thinking that I'll get some more mat time and also gives me a chance to see what the big guys feel like.Just to fill you in on how it works: No time limits, No points, If you tap or give up you lose. Can't punch or kick just twist the other person until they cry uncle.

This time around Brandon L., Nate, and John Bate went with me. We had to leave pretty early to get down to Orem. We had to what for them to get all set up before I could weigh in for my second division, didn't need to worry about it for the first one because it's called Absolute meaning that there is no weight class just open weight. Kind of like the undesputed title, if you take this your the best one there. I weighed in at 171 lbs. and thought that would be just right because me the second division I was doing broke down from below 155, 155-171, 172-200, and 200 and up.

First Round: I had Cody Undy ranked 18th last year in the State, pretty good because there are a lot of grapplers. I took him down and was able to mount pretty easily. I had been watching Youtube all day before and had seen a neck crank that is almost a backwards rearnaked choke that your push down on the forehead and squeeze the back of the neck. It worked and I got him to tap. I was pretty nervous because he's a really good grappler.

Second Round:Steven "The Razor" Sharp was who I had to go against (he's in the picture with the belt). Good luck for me he had a hard match the round before. I totally understand what GSP was talking about when he said how intimidating it was to fight Matt Hughes. I've watched Sharp for years on T.V. and about 1/2 a dozen people who I've seen fight in W.E.C. and on the Ultimate Fight and Sharp has kicked their Butts. So I was very careful not to get triangled. I took him down and landed in side guard he pulled half guard. he locked down hard on my leg and I knew it wasn't going to be easy to get out of his half guard. We fought for position and I ended up going back to our feet. My take downs proved to be on game this day and I they felt very good. I took him down again and he rolled away from me so I isolated and arm and stepped over for an armbar he locked up his hands, I switched t a bicep cutter and then made sure he didn't stack me. I kept him on his back and pulled back hard and got him to tap from the arm bar. I was very excited in side but kept it to my self because I knew I was in the Finals and that I had just caught one of the best Grappler's in the state(5th last year). I wanted to jump up and down because I really thought there was noway I'd get him, but I was afraid he'd beat me up If I did that.

Finals: Ben Garner is a stud and you could tell he's a nice guy you would never want to piss off. Kind of like Mel Gibson in the "Patriot" or that guy in "Taken". I could tell from our first hook up that he was stronger than the others I had gone against, I knew I was in deep water. I took him down and gained side guard. I isolated an arm and was going to go for a key lock and I think he put me into full guard. I need to watch the video again, but I remember we got back on our feet and I took him down again. I think at one point I mounted him just for about a second, he passed. I also remember trying to secure a guillotine choke and couldn't secure guard on him. I had to fight off a mean heel hook, and then I think he took my back in a scramble and locked on a body triangle. I tried to spin out of it but man they are tight when they get locked on. He sunk in a rear naked choke and I tapped. I'll review the tapes and fill you in on the other division.

Second Division was shaping up to be good competition. My first round the tournament guys must of felt bad for me and gave me a bye. Second round I had to wait for a while because he was a ref on the other mat. He was a little small for the class, but he actually felt pretty strong. I took him down and when I shot in I almost went right past him. I kind of just had to hold on because he started rolling all over the place, during this he left his neck out and I locked in a guillotine choke. I thought he was going to tap sooner but he hung in there. I could hear him gasping and could see one side of his neck where he was still getting blood to the brain, so I made a fist and pushed my knuckles into his neck. That did the trick.
I was back in the finals and had my work cut out for me we waited forever! The Kid I had next had legs that could go anywhere. Every time I thought I had a move locked on he could pull half guard and take the pressure off. I had his leg behind his head and reached around with my left hand to lock it in, he didn't even blink. He put me in 5-6 ankle hooks and I has able to get out of them. I really wish I knew more ankle locks because his where exposed but I didn't know what to do. I tried an a straight ankle lock and thought his shin was going to break, but he never tapped. He finally caught me in a knee bar about 20 min's into the match. I wasn't going to fight that move to much, because one of my buddies popped his hamstring just a few weeks before with that same move. It was a fun day I had the first match of the tournament and also the last.

Second Submission Tournament

I had a rough week leading up to this tournament and I felt like it was time to take out some pent up anger, those poor boys in my bracket didn't stand a chance. I had weighed in at 169 and felt like I was ready. My first reaction to my group was that they all looked in good shape and you most people really would never want to tangle with any of them. I had a bye the first round the Kid got sick or something. This worked out good for me because I could stay on the Matt in the warm up area and all the matches. After watching them I looked up at my buddy John Bate and motioned to him that I was going to break these guys in two. This might sound Cocky but after getting beat up by all my bigger, stronger, and faster friends 170 lbs. don't really scare me. I got this Tyler Mears who had some really good looking take downs in warm ups and had a couple guys there he had been coaching. I didn't want him to get off the first shot so I arm dragged him into a single leg and quickly mounted him. I held tight for a couple seconds to let him buck and squirm, seeing what he'd open up for me. I secured an arm triangle and jumped off to the side. I felt him tap and let go. It seemed like it took longer than it did I was pretty happy to get that out of my way in only 1:17. I knew this may pay off in the next matches. My second match was against Ethan Johnson. I talked to him before the match, just small talk I told him to "Overlook me. That I'm just a guy that trains out of his basement by watching Youtube." I didn't mention that my training partners and team DPG crossfit had been kicking my tail everyday for three months. I was nervous to be in the finals for my first time and the only things I knew about him was that he had won his first match in 5:15 and his second in 1:48. We locked up and I tried for a take down, he kind of stuffed it. I knew I hadn't shot the way I should of on a guy like this. I regrouped and this time really went for it and secured him with a deep single. That's one bad thing about wrestling take downs yea you get the guy down but most the time they land in guard. I passed to the side and when we scrambled I took his back and body triangle (figure four around the body) him. I hooked in a rear naked choke but his chin was still down. I had a Severn grip on my hand so I just curled my left arm towards me and forced his neck to bend past the normal range of motion. I felt his body kind of loosen up and then there came the tap at 1:36. I was very happy with the day and felt like I represented my Grappling group and Crossfit team well. Good day got first and didn't have to get beat up in doing it.
p.s. picture show how Dan Severn use to hold his hands for the choke.
