Pretty Cool

So in my job we do a lot of cleaning. Most of the sites we clean are container storage areas that house hazardous waste. We clean these sites weekly. The reason why I'm wasting your time to read this is because we can't chase the Starlings out of these sites. Most people just call them Black Birds, but there real name is a Starling. They poop all over the place, and we have to scrub the floors with our mops forever to get the poop off. You can't disturb the wildlife at all on a federal facility, so we get stuck cleaning poop every spring during nesting season. There are two tension wires in every site and they love to sit on them and poop. Every Site we show up at has a nice x pattern of poop on the floor. On Friday morning I went out to feed my Chickens and the whole sky went dark as a huge flock of Starlings passed over my head. I covered my head with my arm and ran into my house. I was able to escape with out any hits, but I could hear them bombing all around me. It made me crack up because I had a Mission Buddy how told a story of a time when his sister was watching the birds. I guess she was hiding under a blanket, and he was teasing her. All of a sudden a crow flew right into their window and scared the crap out of both of them. Neither one dared to go out of the house to see if the bird was dead or alone? I don't remember how it ends but I still think it was funny.

Have to Love the Chuckle?

Why can Dad's always tickle so good? I remember the few times in my life my Dad was home, he would sometimes rough house with Randy and myself. I just remember being held down and tickled so bad that you could hardly breath. I guess I learned the skill of the Daddy Tickle.

Sick Day from Work?

Yesterday during the workout I could really feel some unpleasant burning in my lungs. It felt like they where bleeding, and like an idiot I kept on going and now today I feel horrible. I hate having any kind of cold because you can't really do anything about them until they pass. If you jam a finger or roll an ankle you just avoid those things that hurt them, but a cold effects everything you do. It's kind of a blessing in a way, because I was able to spend some time with my wife and boy's during breakfast that doesn't happen to often. Sawyer saw the snow and now doesn't want to be inside one bit, but he doesn't want to get dressed ether. Rocky loves pancakes and isn't afraid to fight to get the ones he wants. Sawyer is a little monkey he can climb on anything and it is pretty funny to she how his little brain figures out what needs to go where in order to get up where he wants. Hoser was sick last night and I was scared that it was parvo, but he's acting a lot better today and even tried chasing the cat for a while. Mindy was worried also about it, because we had lost a Lab when we first where married named June to parvo. It was not a nice experience to see a dog suffer like that. I gave Hoser a couple doses of pepto and he seems to be doing good. Stephanie my sister-in-law is in town for a couple days it was good to see her. Her and her husband Richard live in Texas. This last summer we went down and visited them, and they showed us a really good time. Probably the best vacation of my life. Not to get off the subject but one of my friends Mike Blackstone use to have a couple saying that really fit into life. (1) The lowest IQ in a group with suck out the rest of groups IQ, leaving them all with low IQ's. (2) The loss of one trained chimp doesn't stop the circus. (3) No good deed goes unpunished. This morning I had gotten up gave Hoser his med's, drove all the way down to my van pool (realized I was sick and drove home), and then went back to my bed to sleep. I had been asleep for a while and felt like staying that way and the phone rang. Mindy handed me the phone, it was my cousin Lindsey. This last weekend I had cleaned her car for her. It was kind of a gift for her because she's won all sorts of awards for softball and I've never seen her play. In trying to make up for it I told her I'd clean her car. So to tie it back into the story she is in the cold trying to clear her windows for school with no ice scraper. Yea I found it in my garage. The moral of the story is even though I tried to do a good deed, she ended up with no ice scraper, and I ended up getting woke up on my one morning to sleep in.

Recession proof your Family

Just thought this was funny. The Comet was because Mindy had cleaned the sink the day before.
The kids don't use it on their teeth....

Hoser

As many people might know I have a Dog named Hoser. He isn't my first dog named this and maybe not my last? My first Hoser, aka Hoser 1, was a good dog I got him the day that we lost to east in the little league playoffs. I think I was 10 years old. He filled a early ticket to the promise land when he jumped from my brothers truck with his leash tied around his neck. My brothers truck still has the dent from where he kicked it upon finding Hoser 1 dead. Hoser 2 was a replacement bought by my brother. He also was a smart puppy and loved us all. When I was 14 years old my Dad had put me to work on a pipeline in Skull Valley. The line was a couple miles long and Hoser loved going out there with us. One day Bud jumped in my Dad's little truck to run to the Cargill Salt Plant for a needed tool or something, Hoser 2 chased him thinking it was my Dad. When my Dad yelled for him he turned from following Bud and crossed into the other lane where a speeding driver hit him head on. We had a service for him that night before we left and placed him on the Northeast side of the fourth telephone pole South of Teddy Bears. So this is my new Hoser he's a smart dog and has learned a lot of tricks already and is fun to have around. My other Pup Willy has long left me. My father-in-law retired a few months ago and Willy has been by his side ever since. I don't know if Hoser will replace Willy but they both will always hold a good spot in my heart. The video does not give Hoser the best credit for his tricks. It is understandable that the first time in front of the camera he was very excited.

My new adopted Brother while Randy is gone.

So my Family was planning on sending my little brother Randy some stuff for Christmas. My job was to collect a few things and get them to Kari. Well I'm pretty busy and time just gets away from me sometimes. I did manage after countless reminders from Mindy and Kari to go snag these pictures of Keith. He was pretty excited about going to see Big Red and being able to sit in my Dad's mustang. My only mistake was not having the camera on his face when I started the car. It was priceless.

No Rest For The Wicked

I know it's been a little while from my last post, but I've been over whelmed with parties and details. Nothing changes much around my neck of the woods. I get up Mon-Thurs brush my teeth, drink a glass of milk, fill up a gallon of water, water and feed my birds, check for eggs, and go to work. Out the door by 5:15am and back by 7:00pm. During the day to day of work I might be sweeping rocks, wearing tyvek, decked out in full gear air tanks and all, sitting doing paperwork, getting samples ready for the lab, filing old sample stuff, or just anything my boss tells me to do. The job is cool because during our lunch break we go to the gym. I have a group of friends that really like to push our workouts. During the summer we circuit train Mon and Weds. On Tuesday we had a couple of four mile runs we would alternate between, lots of hills and dirt trials (makes you work, road running is easy). Thursday was normally a hard sprint/weight day. The weather isn't so nice we really have stuck pretty much to www.Crossfit.com. We come up with some good stuff on our own also that really pushes the body to wanting to just give up. I always like it when you don't know if your going to puke or not, makes it more interesting.

Monday nights Hero's is mine and Mindy's time together. Kid's get milk and say prayers around 9:00 and then Mindy and I turn on the DVR. How did people live without DVR for so long? This little black box has pretty much saved my life or Damned it (you decide). One more week of Hero's and then back into wondering what the next season will hold. We are trying to make sure Family Night gets done on Monday but I think Sunday works better for us.

Tuesday is nothing to exciting Mindy was working this day? Now she'll be here doing nails for friends and family so I'll just have fun keeping kid's out of Mom's way.

Wednesdays have been our Ultimate Fighter night for the last couple of weeks. It's been an o.k. season, but really can any of you stand Frank Mir? I'd hate to call any former Champion a Idiot but this guy fits the bill (if anyone ever has). I'm sure that he will get smashed on the 27th. What did everyone think of the "Fight for our Troops"? There where some crazy things going on!

You can check out the results at the link above. The night was INSANE!!! If you watched you seen a broken arm, which in over sixteen years if watching I've seen only once. A guy knocked out and still standing up (well at least for a second or so?) I'll get back to the post.

Thursday is nice because at my full time job it's Friday, and I don't mind getting to sleep in to around 7:00 or 8:00 the next day. This means that Mindy and I can normally stay up and catch Jay Leno or maybe even Conan.

Fridays are kind of a blur because I'm really busy detailing and just trying to do the best job I can and give people an awesome looking car. I like it when I get done and can look at it and know it's most likely never been that clean sense its left the factory. Other than wear and tear that no one can do anything about. (Matt. 6: 19-2019 ¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal)

Saturdays are fun for me. Salazar comes over around 9:00 or 10;00 and we practice. This works out for me great because by Saturday I'm healed up from the workouts of the week and can at least hold his attacks off for a little while. I feel that things are falling into place and I should have a good chance of getting some more wins in the next tournament. The rest of the day I do another detail or try to get some of my honey do's done.

Sundays are busy!!! I thought this would be a day to rest? Church starts @ 9:00 so in order to get kids ready Mindy and I have to get a good jump on things. Most of the weeks after Church I have meeting with the Bishop. Then right after that we have our Presidency meeting. It is about six hours from when I leave my house to when I get home, if we don't have visits.

Well if anyone wonders what I'm up to there it is in a nutshell. At least until I get my paintball course up and running..... Like I said "No rest for the wicked"
